A little about Me

GREETINGS, MY NAME IS NIKKI ENSOR. I AM LOCATED JUST OUTSIDE THE SMALL TOWN OF DAVENPORT (about 45 mins west of Spokane), A WONDERFUL RURAL COMMUNITY THAT I GREW UP AROUND AND FOUND MY WAY BACK TO. I GREW UP IN 4-H AND HAD A LOVE FOR ANIMALS, BUT THOSE SWEET LITTLE EQUINES STILL FILL MY HEART. IT STARTED WITH A COUPLE OF RESCUES, REHABILITATING, AND FINDING THEM PERFECT HOMES TO DECIDING TO PUT TOGETHER MY OWN HERD. THEY HAVE FILLED ME WITH MUCH LOVE AND JOY, THEY ARE FAMILY, AND THAT'S WHAT I LOOK FOR WHEN IT'S TIME FOR ONE TO GO ....

What I Do

​I started raising miniature equines, Pomeranians  in 2009. In 2021 I  started adding Papillons, a life long dream of mine.  And now have introduced the designer breed the Paperanian into my program. Most of my equine herd started out as grade stock that came from registered stock, but papers were never acquired for lack of someone previously sending them in - I was ok with that. Now my mini horses are registered with one or more of the 3 registries (AMHA,AMHR, WCMHR).  In my Pomeranians I have both AKC lines, CKC lines and unregistered lines, the Papillons are AKC, and many of my Paperanians are registered with the CKC. It doesn't matter if it's equines or dogs I look for great confirmation and excellent disposition in my breeding program. My goal is to raise quality animals that can fill versatile roles, from 4-H, pet, service animal, shows, or just someone's perfect companion. All of my foals and puppies are handled from birth, have been in my house (yes horses and dogs) and raised with love. I want the perfect home for them - it's a must!

I have enjoyed photography since I was a child and had a small studio in my barn since 2018.  In 2020 I lost my regular job to the pandemic, so instead of letting it get me down I embraced it.  I went full in on my photography, put up a larger studio on my farm and never looked back.  Now I am doing everything but weddings and working my photography has allowed me to be full time with my animals.

Why I Do it

I love minis, long and short ear and everything in between!  I have grown my operation to where I want it to be, but my farm will always be open to that rescue mini in need because that is what got me started - love and compassion and that will never change.  It is also an opportunity for me to help youth get into a horse project without the high expense.  As for the Pomeranians and Papillons, I have always been drawn to their personalities, those beautiful coats and who isn't captivated by a great pair of ears.  They make amazing family dogs.  I wanted to be able to share that with people, by offering healthy, correct dogs without the show dog price on every dog.  I want to put a great dog with forever families and I feel that is what we do. 
​ My first horse when I was a child was a grade cow-hocked black mini mare named "Horse of Course" and she taught me more than I could of ever imagined.  She was part of my childhood that will never be forgotten and now maybe we can help make memories for others too.
